Is this one of those things?
Go ahead and ask that question you have been dying to ask me, when you see my posts on Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin. Go ahead....
When I was first introduced to Market America | Shop.com, it was through the products (is that a red flag for you?). My Dr. had told me I needed to be on a multivitamin but my experience with vitamins and pills in general had never been positive. Hard to swallow, upset stomach - and no measurable difference than when I didn't subject myself to that awfulness.
I shared my frustration with my mom and she made me a cocktail of the vitamins she takes every morning, and purchases from an independent distributor (is that a red flag for you?). I noticed quickly that not only did it taste good (surprise!) but it didn't turn my stomach AND I actually felt better that day than I had in a while.
I got the number of the guy she got them from - a member of her Le Tip group and basically said, "I'll have what she's having" ... I had no idea what was in it but I didn't want to change the taste or the benefits I felt.
Out of respect for his relationship with my mom, I sat down and listened to what he had to say because he had assured me that it was NOT one of those things.
Turns out he was right and the rest is history. I'm now a corporate trainer, challenge winner, leadership council member and on my way to an ongoing RESIDUAL six figure income.
For years I have been so worried about that question - "is it a pyramid?" "is it one of those things?" "is it an MLM?" because on the surface it appears to be one. And let's face it - if it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, smells like a duck - it's gotta be an MLM, right?
What I have realized recently is that these questions will ALWAYS come up as an initial reaction. And that's ok. Because it creates an OPPORTUNITY to educate and inform. And our system teaches us how to do that.
When I asked that question, I was told that it's quite different. And when I sat down to understand the differences (really I sat down to prove he was wrong, to be totally honest), I was shown how this little international internet franchise is changing the world. We are changing the way people shop...the way people do business...the way people work together. And in such smart ways that we are winning awards for our technology...we are attracting positive press and A list celebrities...we have paid independent owners over $2.2 billion dollars in our 22+ years of business.
And go ahead and ask the other question I know you want to ask - can this work for me?
*I want to be very clear that I am NOT against MLM, Direct Sales and Network Marketing companies nor am I implying that I feel any of them are bad. I am merely reacting to my past experience and the reputation many people put on them. I have some VERY good friends that have aligned themselves with companies that would be considered Direct Sales, MLM, etc and make a great living at it. A "Pyramid" is typically referred to when asking if it is a MLM, Direct Sales or Network Marketing company. However a "Pyramid" (i.e. Pyramid Scheme) is illegal and that label is generally misused by those with little to no experience in these types of companies.
"Ok. Is this one of those things?"

The first words out of his mouth were, "you know, if you want to get these products cheaper you can become a business owner and get them at cost." (is that a red flag for you?)
This was a HUGE RED FLAG for me because it started to sound like one of those things...selling vitamins...a business that you can get the products cheaper...recruiting...and I said I was NOT interested in one of those things.*
Turns out he was right and the rest is history. I'm now a corporate trainer, challenge winner, leadership council member and on my way to an ongoing RESIDUAL six figure income.
But how did I get here from that initial skepticism? How did I arrive with such teflon-strong belief from that initial negative reaction?
What I have realized recently is that these questions will ALWAYS come up as an initial reaction. And that's ok. Because it creates an OPPORTUNITY to educate and inform. And our system teaches us how to do that.

So why is it NOT one of those things? Let's break it down...
- We are a product brokerage. We are not burdened by manufacturing costs and R&D. We can move with agility in the market and be in front of the parade and in line with every trend.
- We have no levels. Our team is created with a synergistic connectedness and when one person succeeds everyone benefits. Volumes are shared to infinity so everyone is rooting for each other instead of being in competition with each other. I actually can't wait for the day that my jr. team members surpass my own success because they are not limited to what I can do .. they are limited by nothing other than their own goals and ability to dream.
- We keep our volumes for a year or more. Typically large amounts of products have to be moved in a single month to make money on residual income from a team-based or commission income in a sales-incentive based company. Our sales volumes expire 365 days or more from the day they were generated, so it's not a matter of IF you will be paid for your efforts...it's only a matter of when.
And go ahead and ask the other question I know you want to ask - can this work for me?
